Dont’a Hightower Getting The Pats Fired Up Before The AFC Championship Will Have You Ready To Run Through A Wall
If you watched the NFL Films Sound FX for last year’s Super Bowl (which you definitely should have done by now), then you know the type of vocal leader Dont’a Hightower is.
Unfortunately the Pats have been without his veteran leadership on the field since late October, when the two-time champ was ruled out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle.
But High has kept that same positive energy on the sideline and in the locker room for the last three months as he’s watched his team fight for another opportunity to play football on the first Sunday in February.
To say he was fired up before last Sunday’s AFC Championship match-up with the Jaguars would be an understatement. Hightower was given the duty of opening the door for his teammates as they exited the locker room, and he accepted that job with pride:
If you're not already fired up about this game, you will be after watching today's door opener, @zeus30hightower. #NotDone #GoPats pic.twitter.com/y6CTHFEaYn

There’s no doubt that Hightower is an irreplaceable piece to the Patriots’ defense, and they’ve struggled at times without him. Yet here they are, one win away from another Lombardi.
