One day after his block party that blew up Celtics’ twitter and had the “Free Jordan Mickey” enthusiasts shouting from their rooftops and demanding that Brad Stevens give him more minutes, Mickey has been re-assigned to the Maine Red Claws.
While his potentially large impact in the NBA will have to be put on hold for now, his 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 blocks in the Association this year have fans optimistic that he’ll be ready to make a big impact soon.
JMick has been up and down from the D-League constantly this season, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get called back up to the Celtics in the next few days. The C’s are likely just trying to keep him loose by sending him to Maine where he’ll get a lot of playing time to keep improving his game.
